From The Postbag...

Thank you very much for sending me so promptly a copy of your Club's poem 'Do you Just Belong'. It is something which applies to almost all clubs and certainly 'rang a bell' with me when I first read it on our recent visit to your club with my wife.
Our visit in July was a lovely day. Your course was in splendid condition and we were well looked after by your staff after our game. We couldn't resist finishing our meal with a 'sticky toffee pudding'! It was delicious and one if not the best we sampled on our trip.
Finally thank you very much for the courtesy you extended to me as Captain of my club Chigwell Golf Club.

I would just like to say a big thank you to James and Portpatrick Golf Club for the fantastic welcome and hospitality extended to my son Ally and the rest of the Junior Golf Tour at the recent match against the 'Auld Enemy'. James was brilliant with the lads and his enthusiasm made for a great weekend of golf.
Anytime you are over in St Andrews let us know and we will be happy to meet up.
Be great if the event is on again for next year - hope so.
Thanks again, Duncan and Ally.

My wife and I have just returned from a few days at Portpatrick with our friends and I felt that I had to pass on our thanks to all at the club for looking after us in such a helpful and kind way.
I will mention Gordon & Carolyn in the bar, but everyone made us most welcome and that is very much appreciated.
We will try to return and, who knows, we may even figure out how tp play a links course in the wind (or is it a light breeze?).
Anyway, please pass on our sincere thanks to all.

I just had to drop you a line to say how much I enjoyed my recent visit to your club along with 3 friends on Monday & Tuesday of this week.
The golfing gods certainly smiled on us with regard to the weather and the standard of golf wasn't too bad either.
Your green staff must be congratulated on the presentation of the course also on their very visible continous hard work. Some courses you visit you often find yourself wondering, what do the green keepers do in that wee shed all day!
Thanks also to your very welcoming stewards, who are a credit to your club.
I do hope that if any of your members find themselves at Lurgan GC they will receive as warm a welcome and enjoy our course as much.
As social convenor at Lurgan I must say I appreciated the 'Do You Just Belong' notice and will be most definately be framing a copy for our wall also.

This isn't so much as an enquiry but a thank you - I was touring southwestern Scotland and happened upon Portpatrick and out came the clubs and off I went as a single.
I had a wonderful time - this course is a little gem that may be off the beaten path a wee bit but well worth the visit. I struggled through an 87 (who am I kidding? I am mightily proud of that 87!) but it would have surely been a couple better if I had not been enjoying the scenery so much!
The 13th is surely a wondrous little poke, with the bay beyond and that evil bunker lurking on the right. So, many thanks for a lovely course. I bought one of your shirts and wearing it brings back some very fond memories of a delightful afternoon.
All the best, Dwight Tichenor
Flying Visit - 2008
On Tuesday evening of this week (16th September 2008). Myself, as captain, with my co-pilot Colin Taylor, on a flight from Weston airfield in the Republic of Ireland to our base at Clitheroe in a Gazelle helicopter, encountered very bad weather immediately upon coasting in at Portpatrick.

The severity of the weather caused me make a precautionary landing at your club. As nightfall was approaching we were then unable to continue our flight.
