Welcome to Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club
Portpatrick
Situated on the coast in south west Scotland, overlooking the North Channel to Ireland, Portpatrick Dunskey enjoys a temperate climate due to the Gulf Stream and is playable all year round. There are 2 courses, the Dunskey 18-hole, and the Dinvin 9-hole, which are a mixure of rolling moorland and seaside heath, at around 150 feet above sea level.
VISITORS
The club is renowned for it's warm welcome to visitors, and is popular for day trips, weekend breaks and golfing holidays. There is a wide range of accommodation and numerous other activities & attractions locally for those considering longer stays.
Families are welcome to play the Dinvin 9-hole course, which does not require advance booking.
Groups of golfers come from all over Scotland, as well as from Ireland, England, Scandinavia and beyond, to enjoy the challenges of the Dunskey, for the regular open competitions, the wonderful scenery as it changes with the seasons, and the hospitality of the club.

Stranraer Golf Club – New Course Record!
Many congratulations from Dunskey go to Wullie Corrigan for his superb new course record 64 last weekend, breaking the previous Stranraer course record by 2 shots – no mean feat indeed!
Also, well done to Stranraer ‘A’ Team on winning the ‘A’ League. However we understand that they had Dunskey to thank at the end for beating Newton Stewart in the last match!!
Robert Erskine M.B.E.
Many congratulations to Robert on receiving the M B E in the recent Honours List. As most will know, Robert (alias Murph!) is a Past Captain of Portpatrick (Dunskey) Golf Club and is coxwain of the Portpatrick Lifeboat.
What we all want to know is - when did the Queen actually visit the village putting green?!! Once again, congrats to you!
Temporary Match Secretary
Thanks to Ian Campbell for stepping up to the plate in Charlie's absence. there are a number of competitions going on while Charlie suns himself, so Ian would be grateful if all members will take care in filling in their cards with date, name etc!! Accuracy makes life that bit easier for all!!
Thanks
Anderson Trophy
It appears that a decision has been made and that the Anderson Trophy belongs to Dunskey Ladies for this year. Well done to the Ladies!
Junior Golf Festival
In mid June, we welcomed 57 youngsters to Portpatrick Dunskey for our annual Junior Golf Festival. This event has become a regular diary entry for an increasing number of up and coming golfers and this year was certainly no exception!
The weekend was organised by James Erskine, our resident PGA Professional and he was ably assisted by other PGA Pros and low handicap local amateur players. The groups were split up into 6 coaching groups covering putting, chipping, pitching, mid irons, long irons and driving. At each station the juniors received tuition in that specific part of the game and were then awarded points for accuracy, distance etc, all of which culminated in a very busy prizegiving on Sunday afternoon!
It was great to see such a terrific turn out of all age groups from 5 - 18 year olds and everybody enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
The Club, here at Dunskey, has set its sights set on the promotion of Junior Golf over the next few years. After our ongoing fundraising efforts, we sincerely hope to provide even better coaching facilities such as a new chipping area, all weather driving bays and the constant maintenance and improvement of the the Par 3 Dinvin development course. Our aim is to produce as many competitive low handicap players as possible for entries to the various national age group competitions.
We would also like to thank all our sponsors and members for their generous contributions over the weekend and also Stena for putting up a ferry crossing as a prize.
Thanks to the money raised generally and a donation from the stanley Morrison Charitable Trust, we have been able to purchase a new laptop, video camera and coaching software which will help James Erskine enormously to further improve Junior Coaching here at Dunskey. Here's to next year!
Here are a few snapshots of the activities!
Club Championship and Spalding Cup

The Spalding Cup was won by Mr Andrew Murray with a 65 net!
